LatePals is a social network for night owls, and the games are made for the late hours. They are calm enough to play in bed, but have enough in them to come back to for months. We made every one of them ourselves, from the drawings of the heroes to the rules behind every single shot. There is nothing to download: everything runs in the browser on phones and computers. With an account, your game follows you from your phone to your computer and back again.
Below you can see what each game is about. LateTowers has its own guide and an encyclopedia of all 31 heroes, and LateFarm has a guide with every crop, both with the games' own numbers.
🐒 LateTowers Tower defense that never ends
Our biggest game. You place heroes along a winding road and they defend it against waves of balloons. There are 31 heroes, each with its own attack: the monkey throws darts, the dragon breathes fire, the tree grabs balloons with its roots and the spider spins them into webs.
The game keeps going when you close it. When you come back, your heroes have got further and the gold is waiting. You can unlock ten lands, from the meadow to the seabed and outer space. There is also research, spells, pets, rebirth and season events with their own bosses.
🚙 LateTrails Cozy off-road driving
A calm 3D game where you drive a little off-road car through forests, hills and ravines. There is no timer and nobody to race. You explore, find trail coins and new places, and learn to cross gullies without rolling over.
It runs in the browser on Windows, Linux and phones, and suits a late evening when you just want to unwind.
🌾 LateFarm A farm of your own
Sow, water and harvest crops, look after the animals and grow the farm with greenhouses, a workshop and tractors. You can see the farm from above, in 3D and in first person, and under the ground there is a mine to dig into.
The farm syncs between your phone and computer, so you can carry on anywhere.
💎 LateGems A calm gem puzzle
Tap groups of three or more matching gems. They burst, new ones fall down, and the bigger the group, the more points you get. There is a calm mode with no clock and a quick one-minute mode.
It is made with big, clear pieces, so it is easy for older players and on small screens too.
⚔️ LateClash Card battles against others
Build a deck, go into battle and win trophies to climb through the arenas. Chests give new cards, and your friends list shows who has got furthest.
🎮 The Arcade Snake, Flappy Bird, Sudoku and Bounce
The classic phone games in one place: Snake, Flappy Bird, Sudoku and Bounce with 100 levels. You can play straight away without an account. With an account your best scores are saved and you can get into the Top 10.
How we make the games
All the games are written from scratch in plain JavaScript without a game engine, so they start quickly and run on older phones too. The characters are drawn in code, with light, shadows and moving arms and legs, rather than with ready-made pictures. That is why the heroes can wind up for a strike and wear the season's hat. The rules of LateTowers are also checked on the server, so cheating can't spoil the Top 10 for everyone else.
